Choose existing chats with the same filters as the inbox, query contacts by standard and custom fields, upload a CSV, pick a saved segment, or follow up one stage of a past campaign: everyone who read but did not reply, everyone who clicked, everyone who failed. Admins can save any pick as a segment for next time.
A WhatsApp campaign will not schedule against a template that is still in review. Approved templates show their quality rating next to their status.
Learn moreFill each template slot from a campaign-wide value, a contact field or a CSV column, with a fallback for people who have no value. Free text and email use named tokens.
Learn moreMessages go out in a controlled stream at the channel's rate. Transient refusals retry with back-off; permanent ones log the reason. Cancel mid-run at any time.
Learn moreEvery answer lands on the guest's own thread in the inbox, where bot journeys field the predictable ones and your team handles the rest.
Learn moreThe picker shows only approved templates for the channel. Pick one and a mapping row appears for every slot: a campaign-wide value, a standard or custom contact field, or a column from the CSV or segment, in that priority, with an optional value for recipients who have nothing to fill it. Header media, buttons, coupon codes, offer expiries and carousel cards map the same way.
Acme HotelsA campaign does not fire everything at once; it releases messages at the channel's rate so the platform never blocks your number. Three dials set the pace: how many sends run at the same time, how often a new one starts, and how many a number may send each minute. The slowest dial always wins, and campaigns running at the same time share the same capacity.
Real speed = the smallest of the three. Right now: —
A segment is a named audience you fill from a paste, a CSV, a contact filter, every chat on a channel, or the recipients of a past campaign, all in the background. Every person is counted once, numbers are normalised, and per-person values such as an offer code or a villa name ride along to fill template variables. Your booking system can push last night's check-outs into a segment through the API every morning.
Pick an email channel and the composer switches to a subject line and a rich body, with an HTML mode that sends a pasted template exactly as written and a Gmail-style mobile preview for a sample recipient. Replies thread back into the inbox. With a connected app, the same wizard sends push notifications with a title, body, image, buttons and a countdown.

A hospitality group sends a template to 12,000 recent guests: weekend rates up to 30% off, valid 48 hours. One slot pulls the guest's first name from contacts. It is scheduled for Thursday at 4 pm. By Friday morning most are delivered, a few hundred failed on opt-outs, a handful are still retrying, and the replies are in the inbox, where bot journeys answer the predictable ones and the reservations desk takes the bookings.
Audiences, messages and delivery records stay inside your organisation, encrypted in transit and at rest, in the region you choose. Template approval and channel rules are enforced before anything is scheduled, and every campaign records who created it.

The things teams ask before their first broadcast.
A scheduled broadcast with an audience, a message and a send time. The audience comes from existing chats, a contact filter, an uploaded CSV, a saved segment or a stage of a past campaign. The message fits the channel: an approved WhatsApp template on the official Business Platform, free text or media on an unofficial number, a subject and rich HTML body on email, or a push notification to your own app. Lodgestory prepares every recipient's message in the background, releases them at the channel's rate and shows sent, delivered and failed counts as it runs.
Up to 100,000 recipients per campaign, each counted once. A saved segment can hold 200,000 members, and a campaign sent to it takes a snapshot of the members at the moment it starts preparing, so later changes to the segment do not affect a scheduled send.
On the official WhatsApp Business Platform, messaging outside the 24-hour customer-service window requires a pre-approved template, and review usually takes 24 to 48 hours. Lodgestory enforces this before scheduling: a campaign against a template that is not yet approved will not save, so a broadcast can never queue against a pending template. Unofficial numbers have no templates and no window, and send free text at a much lower rate.
Template campaigns fill every slot from a campaign-wide value, a standard or custom contact field, or a column of the CSV or segment, with an optional fallback for recipients who have no value. Free-text and email campaigns use named tokens such as {{firstName}} or {{offer_code}} in the body and the subject. Segment attributes work as CSV columns.
Around 600 messages a minute on WhatsApp Official and around 6 a minute by default on unofficial numbers and email, released in a controlled stream rather than all at once. Three settings govern the pace: how many sends run at the same time, how often a new send starts, and how many a number may send per minute. The slowest of the three always wins, and several campaigns running at once share the same capacity.
Every recipient has their own status. A transient refusal retries automatically with back-off, up to the limit you set between one and ten attempts. A permanent failure, such as an invalid number or an opt-out, stops trying and logs the reason. You can cancel a running campaign at any time; messages already sent cannot be recalled, but nothing further goes out. The failed or not-delivered stage of any campaign can be picked as the audience of the next one.
