MCP for AI assistants

Your AI. Your whole workspace. Your rules.

Paste one URL into Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client and ask in plain language. The assistant signs in with your Lodgestory account, works in one organisation, does only what your role allows, and asks before anything reaches a customer.

Kaylee is waiting on two things. I approved the refund for Sofia Laurent at ₹8,000 instead of ₹8,400; Kaylee has told her it is done. The late check-in question for Rohan is still open: do you want me to answer it?

One URL, your own sign-in, one organisation

In Claude, open Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, name it Lodgestory and paste the connection URL. Click Connect, sign in with your Lodgestory account in the browser window that opens, pick the organisation, and the actions are available in every chat. ChatGPT takes the same URL in its connector settings.

  • Nothing to copy. Leave the client id and secret fields blank; there is no API key.
  • Another organisation? Add a second connection and choose it there.
  • Any MCP client. Claude on desktop and web, ChatGPT, and anything that speaks the protocol.

How it works

1

Paste the URL

Add api.lodgestory.com/mcp as a custom connector in your assistant. No client id, no secret, no key.

2

Sign in and pick an organisation

Lodgestory's own sign-in screen opens. The assistant receives a limited, time-bound token bound to that one organisation and your role.

3

Ask

"Who's assigned to the chat with Asha? Add Ravi and make him the primary." The assistant picks the action, shows what it is about to do, and asks before anything sensitive runs.

What your assistant can do

Every family of actions below is the same operation the dashboard runs, with the same permissions.

Segments and campaigns

From "everyone who read but didn't reply" to a sent campaign

Ask for a segment made of one stage of a past campaign, read, no reply, or clicked, and the assistant fills it and follows the import. Ask it to preview a template to that segment and it checks the mapping, shows a sample message, the audience size and any warnings, creating nothing. Say send, and it sends only after you confirm.

  • Up to 1,000 people per call, with their country codes, names and attributes for campaign variables.
  • Approved templates on WhatsApp Official, text on unofficial numbers, or an email.
  • Delivery funnel on request: delivered, read, replied, clicked, and who was skipped and why.

Segment Read, no reply · Monsoon has 1,212 people. The preview of monsoon_followup maps {{1}} to first name; no warnings. Shall I send it now?

Chats and availability

Reassign, re-route and reroster without opening the dashboard

See who is assigned to a chat and which teams are on it, add or remove people, set the primary. Assigning a team routes the chat the way the inbox does: an available member with spare capacity becomes the primary, or the chat waits with the team. Put Meera on lunch for chats and calls, then ask who is still online for calls, and the assistant reports each outcome separately.

  • Chats and calls are separate states, because calls run on Lodgestory Voice; the assistant confirms before saying calls changed.
  • Break types come from your own list: Lunch, Meeting, Training.

Done. Ravi is now the primary on Asha's chat (Riya stays assigned). Meera is on Lunch for chats and calls since 13:02. Still online for calls: Dev, Kabir.

Reports and voice

A download link, or a phone that rings

Ask for last week's call-log report and the assistant requests it, waits for Completed and hands you the link. Ask which custom queries are published and run one with a date range. Where Voice is on, review a call with its recording and transcript, place a click-to-call from an agent to a customer, speak a one-shot message with an AI voice, or connect two outside numbers on your business line, each one confirmed with you first.

  • Each call says who handled it, the queues it went through, transfers, hold time and whether it arrived in hours.
  • Placing a call rings a real phone, so the assistant always asks.

Sofia's last call was 2:14, answered by Riya via the Reservations queue, in hours. Transcript: she asked about a 4 am check-in; Riya confirmed it. I can call her back from Riya's extension now; shall I?

Your AI gets access. You stay in control.

Connecting sends you to Lodgestory's own sign-in. The assistant receives a limited, time-bound token for one organisation, can only do what your role can do in the dashboard, and asks before it sends a message, places a call or changes data. Role changes propagate within minutes.

Questions, answered

What owners and admins ask before they connect an assistant.

No. You add the connection URL api.lodgestory.com/mcp in your assistant, sign in with your existing Lodgestory account, email and password or Google, and pick the organisation. The assistant receives a limited, time-bound access token and never sees your password or any key.

Claude on desktop and the web, ChatGPT, and any assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol. In Claude it is Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector; in ChatGPT the same URL goes into its Apps and Connectors settings. Setup takes about a minute.

List team members and teams; find, create and update contacts, up to 500 at once; build and fill segments; preview, send, pause, resume and cancel campaigns; see channels and approved templates and author new ones; assign chats and set the primary; see and set who is available for chats and calls; answer, ask back and approve Kaylee's requests; manage WhatsApp groups and Instagram comments; run and download any of fourteen report types and your published queries; and, where Voice is on, review calls, recordings and transcripts, place click-to-call and connect calls, and manage Masked Connect.

You sign in, not the assistant. Each connection is bound to one organisation, the assistant can only do what your role can do in the dashboard, and it asks before running an action that sends a message, places a call or changes data. Owners and Admins get the full set; a team member gets the actions their role allows and a clear not-permitted answer for the rest.

Yes. Ask what Kaylee is waiting on you for and the assistant lists the questions, choices and held changes with the customer's quoted words shown as data. Answer, approve as proposed or with your own values, reject with a reason that goes to the agent, or ask Kaylee a question of your own before deciding. A request a teammate already handled is reported as handled.

The assistant generates any of the fourteen report types with the module's own filters and returns a download link when the CSV is ready. Custom queries your admins published from Analytics appear with the variables they take, so you can run them with a date range, a channel or a sort in one sentence.
