What is Opt-In?

Opt-in is the explicit consent given by a customer to receive communications from a business. It is a legal requirement for most messaging channels, including WhatsApp Business, SMS, and marketing emails.

Opt-in types include single opt-in (one-step consent) and double opt-in (confirmation required). Collection methods include website forms, checkout flows, QR codes, SMS keywords, and in-app prompts. Records must be maintained for compliance audits.
